History

Eskişehir, as one of the important centers of Turkey's aviation and defense industry, has a long-established engineering culture and manpower trained in the field of aviation for many years. As a natural result of this accumulation, Eskişehir Technical University Department of Aeronautical Engineering was established in 2024 within the Faculty of Engineering in order to train qualified engineers needed by the aviation industry and to contribute to scientific research in this field.

The department has adopted an education and training model in accordance with the requirements of the era in order to produce academic knowledge for the rapidly developing aviation and space technologies in Turkey and to train engineers integrated into the sector. Since its establishment, it has aimed to provide its students with theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience by developing collaborations with domestic and international aviation companies, research centers and universities.

Today, Eskişehir Technical University Department of Aeronautical Engineering is on its way to becoming one of the leading engineering education institutions in Turkey and the world thanks to its original research on the aviation sector, innovative education programs and strong collaborations with industry.
